Not all thugs are bad eggs, I have known many who were kind, handsome and humble. Mike Lucci was a Middle Linebacker for the Detroit Lions in the 1960’s, I remember once as a kid, I heard a knock on our back door, I opened and there stood Mr. Lucci with his piercing blue eyes and square, chiseled chin, “Is your Dad home?” he asked, with a kind smile. I remember those eyes, and I remember his strong grip as he shook my hand in thanks. Like many pro athletes of that era, he had to work over the summers to make ends meet and he had some business with my Dad. I don’t think I ever said a word to him, twelve year old “shock and awe”.
This kind, handsome thug did his damage on Sunday.
